Repair & Restoration

A bugle is a simple instrument, but “simple” doesn’t mean “indestructible.” Dents, stuck slides, loose braces, and worn-out mouthpiece receivers are common on horns that get carried in a Scout’s backpack or handed down through a family for a generation. We repair and restore all of it.

Before You Clean an Old Bugle

If you’ve inherited an old bugle — a family M1892, a Rexcraft your grandfather carried, or something you found at an estate sale — resist the urge to polish it. Aggressive polishing can remove markings and finish that are original to the instrument and impossible to replace. Bring it to us first; we can tell you whether cleaning is safe or whether it’s better left alone.
